Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2026
Recording Consent Required
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have proper consent from all participants before recording any conversation. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction: some regions (including many European countries such as Germany, Austria, Spain, France, and others) require all-party consent, while others (such as the UK, Ireland, and many US states) require only one-party consent. Always inform participants that a recording is taking place and check your local laws before recording.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Scriblr, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
Scriblr is a meeting transcription application that uses on-device machine learning to convert speech to text. The app is designed for personal and professional use to help you capture and organize meeting notes.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Scriblr only for lawful purposes. You may not use the app to record conversations without consent where required by law, violate any applicable laws or regulations, or infringe on the rights of others.
Transcription Accuracy
While we strive for accurate transcriptions, results may vary based on audio quality, background noise, accents, and speaking clarity. Transcriptions should be considered approximations and may contain errors. Always verify critical information independently.
Speaker Detection
The speaker detection feature uses machine learning to distinguish between different voices. This feature is not 100% accurate and should not be relied upon for legal, medical, or other critical purposes.
Your Content
You retain all rights to your recordings and transcripts. Scriblr does not claim any ownership over content you create. Your content remains on your device and under your control.
Data Retention
Scriblr provides optional automatic data retention settings that allow you to configure recordings to be automatically deleted after a specified period (30, 60, 90, or 180 days). This feature is disabled by default. When enabled, recordings older than your selected retention period will be permanently deleted from your device. You are responsible for exporting or backing up any recordings you wish to keep before they are deleted.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Scriblr is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely accurate.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Scriblr.
Intellectual Property
Scriblr, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the app.
Third-Party Services
Scriblr uses open-source machine learning frameworks and models. Your use of these components is subject to their respective licenses and terms of service.
Termination
You may stop using Scriblr at any time by deleting the app. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the app at any time without notice.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
