Our Privacy Promise
Scriblr is built with privacy as a core principle. Your conversations are personal and stay that way. All processing happens on your device - your voice data never leaves your iPhone or iPad.
Data Collection
Scriblr does NOT collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to external servers. We do not have access to your recordings, transcripts, or any content you create within the app.
On-Device Processing
All audio processing, speech recognition, and speaker detection happens entirely on your device using local machine learning models. Your voice data never leaves your iPhone or iPad.
Recording Notifications
Scriblr can play an audible notification sound when recording begins, helping you inform participants that recording has started. This feature can be enabled or disabled in Settings > Recording.
Local Storage
Your recordings and transcripts are stored securely in your device's local storage. This data is protected by your device's security features including Face ID, Touch ID, and device encryption.
No Analytics or Tracking
Scriblr does not include any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking mechanisms. We do not monitor how you use the app or collect usage statistics.
Model Downloads
When downloading AI models for improved transcription, we connect to third-party servers to retrieve model files. No personal data is transmitted during this process, only standard network requests to download publicly available model files.
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your meetings are stored in your private iCloud account. This data is encrypted and managed by Apple according to their privacy policies. We never have access to your iCloud data.
Data Deletion & Retention
You have complete control over your data. You can delete individual recordings, all transcripts, or all app data at any time from Settings > Storage. Deleted data is permanently removed from your device.
Scriblr offers optional automatic data retention settings. You can configure recordings to be automatically deleted after 30, 60, 90, or 180 days. This feature is disabled by default and can be enabled in Settings > Storage > Data Retention.
Recording Consent & Legal Compliance
Recording laws vary by jurisdiction. Some countries and states require all parties to consent before recording (two-party consent), while others only require one party to consent (one-party consent). It is your responsibility to understand and comply with the recording laws in your jurisdiction. Always inform participants before recording a conversation.
Scriblr tracks your acknowledgment of legal responsibilities locally on your device. This information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Children's Privacy
Scriblr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
